  27. I've seen this with my Diamond SpeedStar and I'm now pretty sure it's
  28. an interaction of LW with the driver.  The driver does screen updates
  29. asynchronously, and pending updates aren't completed if the region being
  30. drawn has been invalidated in the meantime.  Normally this is a time
  31. saver, but the side effect this has in previews is obviously not good.

  33. It's possible that using a different approach to drawing the preview
  34. frames will bypass this driver optimization--manually clearing the
  35. background rather than calling InvalidateRect(), for example.  I have
  36. a machine that exhibits the behavior, which means I ought to be testing
  37. for ways to get around it, but I just haven't had the time.
